Middenweg 196, Middenbeemster

The building at Middenweg 196 is a double-sided stolp farmhouse with stone gables featuring decorative elements on its facade. The structure combines stone gables with wooden side walls and includes a traditional Dutch entrance gate.

This farmhouse was constructed in 1682 and represents an example from the early period of agricultural building in the Beemster. In 2001 the building received official status as a Rijksmonument, acknowledging its importance to Dutch architectural heritage.

The house carries the name De Eenhoorn and displays building methods typical of agricultural structures in the Beemster region. The window shutters and entrance design reflect how farming families traditionally arranged their homes in this area.

The building is located on Middenweg in Middenbeemster and can be easily found with navigation guidance. Since it is a protected monument, visiting from outside is possible, allowing visitors to view the facade and gate up close.

This property received the Stolp Award in 1992 in recognition of preserving authentic agricultural architectural elements. The award honored careful maintenance of the characteristic features that define this regional building type.
