't Nupke, Stone windmill in Geldrop, Netherlands
't Nupke is a stone windmill with a cylindrical body and white plaster finish, standing on an artificial rise in Geldrop. The structure was equipped with machinery for grinding grain using wind and later electrical power.
The mill was built in 1843 by miller Anthonij Sevens and operated continuously for over a century. Its operation ended in 1967 following the death of the last miller.
The name derives from local dialect referring to the small rise where the mill was built. Today, visitors can see how such structures reflected the practical needs and language of rural communities.
The mill is located at the west end of Molenakker street and easy to find in the town. Its position on a rise allows visitors to view the structure clearly from surrounding streets.
The mill uses an English turning mechanism for rotating the cap, which is unusual for Dutch mills of this period. This technical detail shows how milling technologies were shared across regions.
