Northwest Panay Peninsula Natural Park, Nature park in Panay Island, Philippines
The Northwest Panay Peninsula Natural Park spans 120 square kilometers across five municipalities, featuring lowland forests and diverse wildlife environments.
Presidential Proclamation No. 186 established this protected area in 2002 to preserve one of the last remaining primary rainforests in the Philippines.
Local communities within and around the park maintain traditional practices while adapting to conservation requirements through sustainable resource management programs.
The natural park functions as a critical watershed system, supplying water to over 100,000 residents and the tourist destination of Boracay Island.
The park houses endemic species including the Visayan Warty Pig, Philippine Spotted Deer, and three native hornbill species in their natural habitat.
