Guadalupe Mabugnao Mainit Hot Spring National Park covers 57 hectares of protected land in the Mantalongon mountain range, with multiple natural thermal springs and caves throughout the grounds. The park features developed bathing pools and day-use cottages available to visitors.
The Philippine government established this conservation area in 1972 through Republic Act 6429 to preserve its geothermal features and watershed forest. This early protection recognized the importance of the site for water supply and environmental conservation.
Religious statues throughout the grounds, including the Santo Niño de Cebú figure, reflect the strong Catholic faith rooted in the Cebu region. These monuments are woven into the daily landscape and show how local people connect their spiritual beliefs to the natural environment.
The park is located about 50 kilometers from Cebu City and can be reached using public transportation. Visitors should wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring plenty of water, especially when exploring the caves and hiking trails.
Two interconnected caves, Cave Lorett and Cave Moymoy, are linked by hiking trails throughout the park grounds. Beyond visitor recreation, the park houses a dam that supplies drinking water to the municipality of Carcar, making it essential to the region's infrastructure.
