Międzyzdroje, Coastal resort municipality on Wolin Island, Poland
Międzyzdroje is a municipality on the Baltic Sea coast of Wolin Island in Poland. Sandy shores sit beneath wooded cliffs that stretch for several kilometers and merge directly into the national park area.
The settlement belonged to the Polish realm from 967 under Mieszko I. During the 19th century it evolved from a fishing village into a health resort for guests arriving from Berlin and other cities.
The settlement bears a Slavic name referring to the two lakes it once separated. The spa house and seafront promenade still display buildings from the era when wealthy families came here seeking rest.
The municipality sits on National Road 3 and Voivodeship Road 102, with a railway station offering regular connections to Szczecin and Świnoujście. The paths along the cliff and through the park are suitable for short walks with views over the sea.
The Natural History Museum displays mounted animals from the region, including birds and mammals living in the nearby forest. A bison enclosure two kilometers from the center allows visitors to observe these large animals up close.
