Orthodox church of the Holy Trinity in Hajnówka

The Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity in Hajnówka is a modern brick building with a distinctive wavy roofline and a separate bell tower standing nearby. Inside, the space is divided across two levels with an asymmetrical layout, and the interior walls feature colorful religious paintings.

Construction began in 1973 under architect Aleksander Grygorowicz and the building was consecrated in October 1992. The project emerged from the desire to create a spiritual home for the Orthodox community that had grown in this area.

This is a major gathering place for the Orthodox Christian community in the region, where visitors can experience eastern liturgical traditions firsthand. The building's design and decoration reflect the values and spiritual identity that its congregation holds dear.

The building can hold up to 5,000 worshippers across its two levels, making it the largest Orthodox church in Poland. Visitors should be prepared for the customs of an Orthodox church, such as appropriate dress and respect for icons and religious items.
