Mikołów County, Administrative division in Silesian Voivodeship, Poland
Mikołów County is an administrative area in the Silesian Voivodeship in southern Poland. It comprises three towns and two rural villages organized under a county structure.
The area was created in 1999 through Polish administrative reforms that reorganized Upper Silesian territories. This restructuring established the county as it exists today.
The region is closely connected to Silesian industrial heritage and local craft traditions visible in its three urban centers of Mikołów, Łaziska Górne, and Orzesze. Each city has preserved its own distinct character that shapes daily life today.
The county sits between Katowice and neighboring regions with good access to major transportation routes. Visitors can reach the three towns and rural areas using public transportation networks.
The territory features a balanced mix of developed urban centers and agricultural villages, which is uncommon for an industrial region in Upper Silesia. This combination allows visitors to experience both urban and rural aspects of Silesian life in one area.
