Skierniewice County

Skierniewice County is an administrative district in Łódź Voivodeship in eastern Poland. The territory comprises nine rural municipalities, while Skierniewice city itself operates as a separate administrative entity.

The territory took its current form in 1999 following Poland's nationwide administrative reform. This restructuring aimed to make local governance more efficient and responsive to residents.

The district bears the name of Skierniewice city but lies entirely outside its boundaries. This quirk often causes confusion, since the namesake city is completely independent administratively.
