Kozienice

Kozienice is a municipality and county seat in Masovian Voivodeship, located on the western bank of the Vistula River. The town spreads across several kilometers and combines residential areas, public buildings, and green spaces with river access.

The settlement received its first written mention in 1206 when Norbertine nuns from Płock held lands in this region. This early religious connection shaped the development of the settlement through the centuries that followed.

The town serves as a cultural hub for the surrounding area, where the community center regularly hosts performances and events that bring residents together. Schools, sports facilities, and cultural venues shape the everyday rhythm of local life.

An important Polish king was born here in 1467, an event that later prompted the construction of a significant monument. This memorial ranks among Poland's oldest secular monuments and marks the town's historical importance.
