Mieszko Oak, Natural monument in Ursynów, Poland

The Mieszko Oak stands as a massive pedunculate oak tree, reaching several meters in height with a thick trunk and extended branches spreading across the area.

This six-hundred-year-old oak tree represents one of the oldest living specimens in the Masovian region, witnessing numerous historical events throughout Polish history.

The tree bears the name of Mieszko I, the first documented ruler of Poland, reflecting its deep connection to the national identity of the country.

The oak tree underwent extensive examination and treatment following a fire incident in June 2023 to determine its structural stability and required conservation measures.

Local residents gather annually on October 10th during World Tree Day to monitor and document the changes in this ancient oak's condition.
