Town Hall Tower, Gothic tower at Market Square, Poland
The 70-meter stone tower features a Baroque dome, twin stone lions guarding its entrance, and medieval masonry construction with architectural elements.
Built in the early 1400s as part of the Town Hall complex, the tower remained standing when authorities demolished the main building in 1820.
The tower basement contained both a prison with torture chamber and the Świdnickie Beer Cellar, a medieval tavern frequented by local residents.
Visitors can climb 110 stone steps to reach the observation level, which provides views across the Market Square and the city center.
The ground floor chamber displays 14 stonemason marks from 1444, considered rare examples of medieval craftsman signatures in Europe.
