Gmina Nowa Dęba, Urban-rural municipality in Tarnobrzeg County, Poland
Gmina Nowa Dęba is an urban-rural municipality in Tarnobrzeg County, in southeastern Poland, combining a town center with a number of villages and forested land. Fields, woodland, and small waterways cover much of the surrounding terrain.
The area around Nowa Dęba was shaped in the late 1930s by the construction of an ammunition factory, built as part of Poland's Central Industrial Region program. That factory gave rise to the town that stands today.
The town center of Nowa Dęba brings together shops, schools, and public offices in a compact space that locals use daily. In the surrounding villages, farming shapes the pace of life and people tend to know their neighbors well.
The municipality is most easily reached by car, using the regional roads that connect the town center to nearby villages and towns. Those planning to explore the rural parts of the area should allow extra time, as distances between settlements can be long.
An active Polish Army training ground operates within the municipality, which is a direct legacy of the ammunition factory that created the town. This means parts of the local land remain off-limits to the public, something few visitors expect to find in a small municipality.
