Niesytno Castle

Niesytno is a castle perched on a rocky hilltop near Płonina, featuring a prominent tower with interior spaces spanning multiple levels carved directly into the bedrock below. The building combines medieval construction techniques with architectural elements added during later periods of renovation and expansion.

The fortress was established around 1300 and initially served as a residence for regional nobility before undergoing changes under successive owners over the following centuries. It played a role as a defensive position during the turbulent wars and conflicts that shaped the region in the 15th century.

The castle name originates from Niemir, a local outlaw, and the structure follows traditional Gothic architecture with Renaissance additions from the 16th century.

The site sits in a hilly countryside area west of Bolków and can be approached by vehicle, though you will need to park at a reasonable distance from the structure. Access is not currently possible as the ruins remain privately owned and are not open to visitors.

The castle tower features a distinctive spire design that, along with the Dziobowa Tower of Bolko Castle, represents an unusual architectural element in Polish fortifications.
