Museum of Industry and Agriculture, Agricultural museum in Warsaw, Poland
The Museum of Industry and Agriculture contains over 20,000 exhibits displaying agricultural machinery, tools, and rural craft workshops from different periods.
Founded in 1875 through private funding from aristocrats and landowners, the museum operated in a former monastery on Krakowski Przedmieście street until 1945.
The museum published an 11-volume Agricultural Encyclopedia between 1890 and 1902, contributing to the documentation of Polish agricultural knowledge.
The museum combines indoor and outdoor displays to present the evolution of farming practices through machinery, tools, and food processing equipment.
Marie Curie conducted physics experiments in the museum laboratory during 1890-1891, marking a notable period in the institution's history.
