Rydzyna Castle is a Baroque fortress in Greater Poland with eight elaborately decorated interior rooms. The spaces feature Italian frescoes and stucco ornaments, and the structure is surrounded by moats and landscaped grounds.
The castle was founded in the 15th century by Jan of Czernina and gained prominence through royal connections. King Stanisław Leszczyński used it as his residence between 1704 and 1709.
The castle displays collections that reflect the lives of its former residents, including furnishings and personal belongings of the Sulkowski family. Visitors can see how the nobility lived here and what artworks they valued.
The location is about an hour's drive from Poznań and Wrocław and is easily accessible via the S5 road. The estate has conference facilities that work well for groups and events.
The castle received a major European award in 1994 for its extensive restoration work. The project was carried out by an engineering association and became an example of successful heritage preservation.
