Third Millennium John Paul II Bridge

The Third Millennium John Paul II Bridge extends 380 meters across the Martwa Wisła River with an inverted Y-shaped pylon reaching 100 meters high.

The construction of this infrastructure project started in August 1999 and reached completion in October 2001, marking a new era for transport in Gdańsk.

The bridge bears the name of Pope John Paul II, reflecting the deep connection between the religious leader and the Polish community.

This structure carries National Road 89 and connects the Northern Port of Gdańsk to the national road network with a load capacity of 50 tonnes.

The bridge maintained its status as Poland's longest cable-stayed bridge supported by a single pylon until the inauguration of Rędziński Bridge in 2011.
