The power plant features red brick walls, tall windows, and industrial architecture characteristic of early 20th-century electrical facilities in central Europe.
The power station, constructed between 1905 and 1908, generated electricity for Warsaw's first electric trams, marking the modernization of public transportation.
During the 1944 Warsaw Uprising, the power plant workers maintained electricity supply while supporting resistance efforts against German occupation forces.
The facility operated continuously until 2001, after which it underwent renovation to transform the industrial space into a mixed-use development.
Original steam boilers and turbines installed in 1908 generated 3,600 kilowatts of power, sufficient to operate the entire Warsaw tram network.
