Dworek Karscha w Kielcach

This manor house is a single-story building with a columned portico entrance, positioned at the corner of Jana Pawła II and Ogrodowa streets. The structure was designed by architect Aleksander Dunin Borkowski in the first half of the 19th century and reflects the neoclassical style of that period.

The property began as a bishops' farm called Psiarnia in the 18th century, but was reconstructed in the early 19th century when a new manor was built on the site. This redesign transformed it into the neoclassical structure that visitors see today.

Painter Jan Styka lived and worked here from 1888 to 1890, and a plaque on the facade marks this important period of his artistic life. The building became a gathering place for creative minds during his residence.

The building now houses offices and a pub, making it easily accessible and well-connected by public transportation. Its location on the red trail walking route of Kielce means visitors can combine their visit with other landmarks in the city center.

The Stumpf family, former owners of the manor, built a brewery on the neighboring property that operated for decades until the 1920s. Visitors can still see the ruins of this brewery nearby, offering a glimpse into the industrial activity that once surrounded the site.
