Shrodool

Shrodool is a district covering the northeastern part of Sosnowiec with a mix of apartment buildings, parks, and industrial sites. The area shows how residential zones blend with production facilities across its streets.

The place emerged as a settlement in the 17th century and became officially part of Sosnowiec in 1914. This merger marked a period of city expansion when Sosnowiec absorbed surrounding communities.

During World War II, the district contained a Jewish ghetto where 35,000 residents were held before their deportation to Auschwitz concentration camp.

The district connects easily to central Sosnowiec through several bus lines that serve the neighborhood. Schools and public facilities are spread throughout, so visitors can find basic services nearby.

The district preserves architectural elements from different eras, ranging from 17th-century structures to early 20th-century industrial buildings. Walking through the area reveals how older and newer construction styles coexist, telling the story of the city's growth.
