Saint Andrew church in Lipnica Murowana

Saint Andrew church in Lipnica Murowana is a wooden structure dating to the 15th century with Gothic characteristics. Its framework consists of a two-part design with a chancel enclosed by three walls and a wider square-shaped nave.

The wooden structure was built in the 15th century on a site that previously held a pagan shrine according to historical records. This continuity of place shows how Christian structures replaced earlier religious sites.

The church interior displays ornamental and figurative paintings from different periods, with the oldest decorations in the presbytery dating to the late 15th century. These layers of decoration tell the story of the generations who shaped this sacred space.

The building retains its original windows exclusively on the southern side, with access points through south and west entrances. Visitors should note that lighting is uneven and the interior can be quite dim, especially on the northern side.

The building contains the grave of the Ledóchowski family, whose parents were connected to two religious figures who received significant recognition in church circles. This link to notable people in church history makes the grave a special place for the faithful.
