The construction of the current church began in 1909 and concluded in 1913, when Cardinal Georg Kopp from Wroclaw performed the consecration ceremony.
The church maintains German language services every Sunday at 9:30, reflecting the multicultural heritage of the Opole region in Poland.
Regular masses occur daily at 6:30 and 18:00, with additional Sunday services at 8:00, 11:00, and during academic months at 12:30.
During the Napoleonic Wars in 1807, the previous church building served as a field hospital for French soldiers.
