Corpus Christi church is a Baroque Revival building with three naves and a main altar featuring an oil painting of the Last Supper. Numerous stained glass windows depicting saints fill the interior and create visual interest throughout the space.
Construction of the current building began in 1909 and concluded in 1913, when Cardinal Georg Kopp from Wroclaw consecrated it. The site had hosted an earlier church structure before this Baroque Revival edifice replaced it.
The church holds German language services every Sunday at 9:30, reflecting the multicultural heritage of the Opole region and welcoming visitors from different communities.
The church is open daily for visitors and holds regular services throughout the day. Guests should dress respectfully and be prepared for ongoing worship activities when visiting.
An earlier church structure on this site served as a field hospital for French soldiers during the Napoleonic Wars in 1807. This unexpected military use links the location to broader historical events of that turbulent period.
