Śrem Transmitter, Radio transmission tower in Góra, Poland
The Śrem transmitter is a steel lattice mast located near Góra that rises 290 meters above the flat Greater Polish countryside. The structure is stabilized by multiple steel guide wires that extend from the tower to ground anchoring points.
The transmitter was built in 1964 by Mostostal Zabrze and began broadcasting operations that same year. The 220-ton steel structure was designed to provide radio and television signals to the surrounding region.
The transmitter maintains regional connectivity through multiple FM radio stations and digital television channels across Greater Poland Voivodeship.
The mast is easily visible from surrounding roads and can be observed from outside, as the tower area is not fenced off. The best views are from a distance, where the full height is most apparent against the sky.
The structure incorporates specialized broadcasting equipment at different levels, enabling signal transmission across an extensive range within the region.
