Lilla Weneda Park in Kraków, Public park in Bieżanów-Prokocim district, Kraków, Poland.
Lilla Weneda Park is a public green space covering about 9 hectares with several ponds, wooded sections, and gentle slopes throughout. The land preserves the original forest structure with mature trees intact, while walking paths and open areas allow visitors to move through different landscape types.
Development of the park began in 1995 under architect Maria Chomik-Wolak's direction. The project built upon the remains of an earlier forest landscape and incorporated the existing mature trees into the new park design.
The park is named after a local figure and serves as a gathering place where nearby residents spend their everyday leisure time. It functions as a neighborhood hub, especially for families who come to enjoy outdoor activities together throughout the week.
The park is easily reached by public transport with several bus stops located near the entrance areas. Wearing sturdy shoes is recommended as the natural slopes and unpaved paths vary in difficulty throughout the space.
The park contains specialized habitats that support amphibians such as smooth newts and crested newts. These wetland areas make it a refuge for sensitive species that are increasingly rare in urban settings.
