Castle in Dzięgielów

The castle in Dzięgielów is a Renaissance structure with four stone and brick wings arranged around a central vestibule. The vestibule contains four bays with distinctive vaulted ceilings that define the interior layout.

Archaeological work uncovered remains of a medieval fortified settlement on the site, including wall fragments and foundations of a circular tower. These findings indicate that occupation at the location extended back centuries before the Renaissance building was constructed.

The castle's portals display coats of arms from local noble families such as Sreniawa and Ogonczyk that were connected to the region. These emblems mark the building's ties to families who shaped the area's history.

The castle sits in the town center of Dzięgielów along ul. Zamkowa 38, making it easy to locate from nearby streets. Visitors should note that the site is best explored on foot to appreciate the multi-wing layout.

The southern wing formerly housed a distillery and brewery with storage chambers for beer, wine, and spirits. These working spaces reveal that the castle functioned as a production facility alongside its role as a residence.
