Piarist monastery in Radom, Educational monastery in Radom, Poland.
The Piarist monastery in Radom is a large building complex with four wings surrounding a central courtyard and an attached church. Located at Rynek 11, the ensemble combines residential quarters, teaching spaces, and galleries within its interconnected structure.
The complex was designed by architect Antonio Solari between 1737 and 1756 as a baroque educational college with presbytery. Construction progressed slowly with several interruptions and modifications that altered the original plans.
The building now houses the Jacek Malczewski Museum, displaying works by regional artists and telling the story of the city's artistic development. Visitors can see how local creative traditions shaped the collections on display.
The museum is open daily except Mondays, and guided tours in multiple languages can be arranged in advance. Visitors should book tours ahead of time to ensure availability and receive more detailed explanations of the collections.
The complex incorporates sections of Radom's medieval defensive walls along Wałowa Street into its own structure. This fusion of fortification with later educational use reveals how the site's purpose evolved over centuries.
