The monastery received an Evangelion from Brest burghers in 1498, marking the earliest documented evidence of its existence in the region.
The interior contains traditional Orthodox religious art, including the revered icon of Saint Onuphrius the Great that arrived via Bug River.
The church stands near the border crossing with Belarus, approximately six kilometers from Slawatycze, along the banks of Bug River.
The monastery redirected the Bug River course through Archimandrite Narcissus's efforts to protect the structure from flooding risks.
