Saint Lawrence church in Wołów

Saint Lawrence church in Wołów is a brick building from the Gothic period with a central nave and two side aisles arranged in hall form. The interior displays cross-rib vaults and geometric corbels, while the exterior features large pointed windows and reinforced buttresses supporting the walls.

Construction began in 1391 on the site of an earlier temple, with the building undergoing major renovation after fires in 1465 and 1689. A further expansion took place in 1908 to accommodate the needs of the growing community.

This church served as the spiritual center of the town for centuries and continues to shape the local landscape with its visible presence. Today it remains a gathering place for religious ceremonies and draws visitors interested in appreciating the craftsmanship of brick architecture.

The building is easily recognizable from outside and accessible from multiple sides, with the main entrance on the north side. It is best visited during daylight hours to fully appreciate the interior vaults and window details.
