Kościół Opatrzności Bożej at 5 Dickensa Street in Warsaw's Rakowiec area is a brick church built from 1976 to 1979 to a design by Leszek Kołacz. Its front faces the street, with the inscription "Dobrze jest być blisko Pana" carved above the entrance and a stone from St. Peter's tomb set into the wall beside the door. The main altar holds a crucifix, a painting of burning Jerusalem and a frieze of the twelve apostles.

The parish was founded by Father Romuald Kołakowski, who in 1962 adapted cement-store barracks on Dickensa Street into a chapel, consecrated by Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński on 31 May 1962 and nicknamed Stajenka. Authorities refused a church permit, fined the priest and in 1966 seized half the plot with militia for a kindergarten. Permission came in 1972; Leszek Kołacz designed the church, the cornerstone was laid on 30 April 1976, and Wyszyński consecrated it on 8 December 1979.

The parish takes its name from the 1791 vow of the Four-Year Sejm to build a church of Divine Providence; the Rakowiec parish was founded by Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński, who consecrated the wooden chapel called "Stajenka" on 31 May 1962 and gave the parishioners liturgical vessels. A 15th-century image of the Virgin Mary, considered miraculous, was donated to the church by Wyszyński in 1978 and hangs in the side chapel.

The church stands at Dickensa 5 in Rakowiec, its front facing the street; the entrance is marked by the inscription "Dobrze jest być blisko Pana" carved in the wall. Look beside the door for the stone from St Peter's tomb, brought from Rome in 1972 as a gift of Pope Paul VI. Inside, the main altar holds a crucifix, a painting of burnt Jerusalem and a frieze of the 12 apostles; the stained glass was made in 1984–1992.

Beside the door, set into the wall, is a stone from the tomb of Saint Peter, brought from Rome in 1972 as a gift from Pope Paul VI. The church's dedication refers to the 1791 vow of the Four-Year Sejm to build a shrine for the May 3 Constitution, a vow fulfilled at Wilanów, not here.
