Muzeum Miniaturowej Sztuki Profesjonalnej Henryk Jan Dominiak in Tychy, Professional miniature art museum in Tychy, Poland
The Muzeum Miniaturowej Sztuki Profesjonalnej Henryk Jan Dominiak is a contemporary art space dedicated to miniature work in Tychy, a city in the Silesian Voivodeship. The exhibition area measures roughly 6 square meters and holds close to a thousand pieces spanning painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, heraldry and vexillology.
Henryk Jan Dominiak founded the space in 2013, and it gained formal acknowledgment from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Since opening, it has hosted rotating displays and charity projects.
The collection brings together Polish and international artists working in miniature painting, sculpture, heraldry and drawing. Among these works sits the smallest painting of the 1920 Battle of Warsaw ever made.
The address sits in Tychy, a city in southern Silesian Voivodeship roughly 20 kilometers south of Katowice. Visitors should check ahead for opening periods because temporary closures happen when the space changes displays.
A miniature city model sits in the garden and reproduces several buildings from Tychy at a reduced scale. A memorial next to it honors the victims of the presidential Tu-154M aircraft accident.
