The rectangular structure rises six stories high with symmetrical facades and pronounced decorative elements that define its architectural character.
Originally constructed to house the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Silesia, the building underwent ownership changes and was sold to the Court of Appeal in 2023.
The building accommodated various academic departments including Polish philology, library science, cultural studies, and classical philology from 1990 onwards.
Located at coordinates 50.252917 latitude and 19.023444 longitude, the building now serves judicial functions under the management of the District Court of Katowice Zachód.
The property changed hands for 27 million Polish złoty in December 2022, marking its transformation from an educational institution to a judicial center.
