The cinema opened on April 30, 1975, under the name Iwanowo, referencing the partnership between Łódź and the Russian city of Ivanovo.
During its operational period from 1975 to 2001, the cinema presented both Polish and international films, maintaining 570 seats for regular screenings.
The facility included advanced 70mm projectors, temperature control systems, and staff members in green uniforms who guided visitors to their seats.
In the early 1990s, the cinema introduced video screenings in its lobby, setting up rows of chairs around a television set with a VCR.
