Pomnik Fryderyka Wielkiego, Bronze sculpture in central Bytom, Poland.

Pomnik Fryderyka Wielkiego is a bronze sculpture in Sikorski Square in Bytom that depicts a Prussian king mounted on horseback. The statue displays detailed features of his military uniform and commanding posture.

Artist Louis Tuaillon created the monument between 1910 and 1912 at the commission of a wealthy businessman. Emperor Wilhelm II attended the official unveiling, making it a significant event of that era.

The monument shows the connection between Bytom and Prussian history, since the city was long under German rule. Visitors can appreciate the craftsmanship of the statue, which preserves this historical link in stone and bronze.

The monument sits on a central square that is easily reached on foot and has several transportation connections. Visitors should come during daylight to best see the details of the bronze work.

The artist Louis Tuaillon also created a smaller bronze copy of the statue, which now resides in the Berlin City Museum. This miniature version provides insight into Tuaillon's working process when creating large public artworks.
