Jerzego Waszyngtona 2B in Warsaw

Jerzego Waszyngtona 2B is a thirteen-story residential building with modernist architecture standing on Warsaw's eastern side. The structure features vertical lines and systematic facade elements typical of postwar high-rise design.

The building was constructed in 1963 as the first high-rise on the right bank of the Vistula River in postwar Warsaw. Major modifications in the 1970s replaced its original floor-to-ceiling glass walls with brick and smaller windows for better insulation.

The building displays modernist design principles with geometric forms and functional layouts that shaped residential construction in the 1960s. These architectural choices reflected how Warsaw was reimagining urban living after the war years.

The building sits in a mixed residential neighborhood with good public transit connections serving Warsaw's eastern side. Keep in mind that this is an active residential building and interior access may be limited.

A large concrete circle remains on the roof, a leftover from original plans for a rotating restaurant at the top. This unfinished detail hints at the city's ambitious visions for this early high-rise development.
