Praga-Południe, Administrative district in eastern Warsaw, Poland
Praga-Południe is an administrative district in southeastern Warsaw that combines residential neighborhoods, shopping areas, and green spaces. The area stretches along the eastern bank of the Vistula River and includes parks, housing, and commercial zones.
The district developed from ancient settlements named Kamion, Grochów, and Gocław founded between the 11th and 14th centuries. These communities were later incorporated as Warsaw expanded eastward.
The district houses several cultural institutions and art centers that support local artists and host regular exhibitions throughout the year. Residents and visitors come here to experience contemporary works and engage with the creative community.
Multiple tram and bus lines link the area to central Warsaw, while the second metro line provides quick access to western neighborhoods. Good public transport connections make it easy to explore different parts of the district.
A large stadium was built in 2012 for an international sports tournament and remains a major venue for matches and concerts today. With capacity for over 50,000 people, it ranks among Europe's larger arenas.
