Śródmiejska Dzielnica Mieszkaniowa in Szczecin, Residential district in Szczecin, Poland
The Central Residential District features five-story buildings with rusticated ground floors, cornices separating floors, and ornamental gables along Jedności Narodowej Avenue.
Between 1952 and 1954, architects Henryk Nardy, W. Adamczyk, and Emanuel Maciejewski designed the first residential buildings for this post-World War II housing development.
The buildings combine socialist realism architecture with regional Pomeranian construction techniques, creating a specific interpretation that differs from Warsaw and Krakow examples.
The residential complex contains apartments ranging from 21 to 68 square meters, equipped with oak parquet floors, terracotta tiles, and central heating systems.
The C-3 building, constructed from 1958 to 1959, stands out from earlier structures through modern architectural solutions and glass interior window sills.
