Amber Sky, Observation wheel in Old Town, Poland.
Amber Sky is a ferris wheel located on the Motlawa riverbank in Gdańsk's Old Town. It features 36 climate-controlled cabins that carry visitors up to view the medieval city and surrounding landscape from above.
The wheel opened to the public in 2016 and underwent relocation before settling at its current riverside site. Its permanent establishment in 2018 marked the beginning of its role as a lasting local landmark.
The name references amber, a material deeply connected to this region's identity and maritime heritage. From the height, you gain perspective on how the historic city sits between river and sea, two elements central to local life.
Access is available in good weather conditions, which also provides the clearest views across the city. Morning visits are often less crowded, giving you a more relaxed experience as you ascend and survey the surroundings.
One cabin features a glass floor that removes any barrier between you and the view below, creating an intense sensation of height. This detail transforms the ride for visitors seeking something more thrilling than a standard observation experience.
