Statue of Ayrton Senna, Bronze statue near Mining and Motorsports Museum in Wałbrzych, Poland
The life-size bronze figure depicts Formula 1 champion Ayrton Senna seated on a racing tire, positioned at the entrance of the Mining and Motorsports Museum. The work shows careful attention to detail in capturing the racing legend's posture and expression.
The monument was unveiled on 18 September 2021 as an initiative by Jerzy Mazur, the first Polish participant to finish the Dakar Rally. His personal connection to motorsport made him a fitting figure to lead this tribute.
The statue sits on Ayrton Senna Street, named in 2015 to honor the link between Polish and Brazilian motorsport communities. Visitors can feel the weight of this international connection at this specific spot.
Visitors can view and photograph the statue free of charge directly at the museum entrance. If you have extra time, the adjoining museum offers additional activities related to local history and motorsport.
Designer Stefan Romecki based the monument on a specific memory from the 1986 Hungaroring circuit to capture an authentic moment. This particular reference adds depth and personal connection beyond a generic tribute.
