Church of the Holy Mother of God, Kuršumlija

The remains of the monastery stand between the Kosanica and Toplica rivers, featuring a triconch base and architectural elements from different construction periods.

Serbian Grand Prince Stefan Nemanja constructed the monastery between 1159 and 1168, establishing it on the foundation of a Byzantine basilica from Justinian's time.

The monastery functioned as a nunnery where Stefan Nemanja's wife, later Saint Anastasia, served as one of the first caretakers of this religious institution.

Visitors can find the monastery ruins between Radomir Milovanović Samo street and the Toplica River, with coordinates at 43.1389 latitude and 21.2905 longitude.

The construction evolved through different materials, starting with bricks and later incorporating sandstone, while featuring stone sculptures depicting natural scenes.
