The hotel was built in 1968 on the site of the older Hotel Orient, which was constructed in 1899 and demolished in 1960. It operated for decades before closing in 2013 and reopening in 2019 following substantial renovation.

The hotel sits directly on King Milan Square in the city center, close to the main bus station and not far from the airport. Note that the building has no parking lot of its own, but nearby underground garages are available for guests.
