Lefortovo District, Administrative district in Moscow, Russia
Lefortovo District covers 9.15 square kilometers in the southeastern part of Moscow, hosting military facilities and educational institutions.
Established in 1699, the district bears the name of Franz Lefort, a military commander who served as an advisor to Tsar Peter the Great.
The district contains numerous palaces from the 18th century, including Annenhof, Lefortovo Palace, and Catherine Palace, representing Russian imperial architecture.
The Lefortovo tunnel, part of Moscow's Third Ring Road, provides essential transportation connections through the district for vehicles.
The district houses the Moscow Power Engineering Institute and the Burdenko Main Military Clinical Hospital, two major institutional facilities.
