Лысая гора

Lysaya Gora is a protected natural area near Voronezh, rising from the right bank of the Voronezh River with steep slopes and sandy terrain forming a distinctive landform. The mountain displays layered geological composition with exposed soil formations that shift continuously through ongoing erosion.

The site contains burial grounds from the ninth century that reveal the presence of ancient Slavic settlements in this region. Erosion continues to expose and gradually consume these archaeological remains, transforming the mountain's surface over time.

This natural monument serves as an educational site where visitors learn about local ecosystems through guided tours and ecological activities.

Multiple hiking trails depart from the mountain's base and accommodate both casual walkers and experienced hikers with different route options. Parking is available at the entrance, making access straightforward and allowing visitors to begin their exploration immediately.

The exposed soil layers clearly display different materials, with brown quaternary loams beneath white loose sands, visibly demonstrating the age of geological formations. This natural layering makes the site a distinctive example of visible geological history that can be observed directly while visiting.
