The museum displays a collection of letters, documents, and telegraph equipment from the former post office where Anton Chekhov managed his correspondence.

Established in 1987, the museum occupies the building of the Lopasnia post office that opened in 1896 following Chekhov's requests during his residence in Melikhovo.

The museum preserves Anton Chekhov's epistolary heritage, including stamps with his portrait, autographed books, and vintage postcards from the late 19th century.

Located at 4a Chekhova Street in Chekhov city, the museum operates Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with closures on Mondays.

The museum features original telecommunication devices from Chekhov's era, including an Alexander Graham Bell telephone and a Samuel Morse telegraph apparatus.
