Monuments to Bim in Voronezh

The monument stands at 50 Revolution Prospekt and depicts a life-sized dog figure in bronze with a distinctive black ear as its defining feature. The sculpture sits near the Puppet Theater and serves as a regular meeting point for locals and visitors.

The monument was unveiled in September 1998 to honor the centenary of author Gavriil Troepolsky's birth. The novel that inspired the figure appeared in 1971 and gained widespread recognition through literary and film adaptations over the following decades.

The bronze figure represents a character from Troepolsky's story that many people know from books and films. Visitors often stop to touch the monument and take photographs, as if greeting a familiar literary friend.

The statue is easily reached on foot from the city center and sits on a busy street with good lighting. No advance planning is needed since the site is freely accessible throughout the day and into the evening.

The statue was created by artists Elza Pak and Ivan Dikunov and uses an unusual mix of stainless steel for the body and bronze for the distinctive black ear. This material combination makes the figure recognizable from a distance and gives it a special appearance.
