Mindovsky House

Mindovsky House is an Art Nouveau residential building located at 44 Povarskaya Street in the Arbat district. The structure features ornate decorative details on its exterior and carefully composed interior spaces with artistic embellishments.

Architect Lev Kekushev designed this residential structure in 1903 when Moscow was expanding its architectural landscape. Since 1973 it has served as the New Zealand diplomatic mission, undergoing major renovation work between 2015 and 2023.

The building displays ornamental tilework and organic forms that reflect early 1900s artistic tastes. Visitors can observe how natural shapes and ceramic details were woven into both the outer facade and interior spaces, showing what designers of that era valued.
