Mindovsky mansion

The Mindovsky mansion is a two-story stone Art Nouveau building located on Povarskaya Street in Moscow's Presnensky District. It features curved lines, floral patterns, and stained glass windows that define its exterior appearance.

The mansion was built in 1903 by architect Lev Kekushev as a luxury residence. Merchant Ivan Mindovsky purchased it in 1909, and the building took his name from that point forward.

Each room inside displays a different interior style, blending Russian architectural traditions with European Art Nouveau design. Walking through these spaces, you notice how the decorative choices shift from room to room.

The building stands at the corner of Povarskaya Street and Skaryatinsky Lane and currently serves as the Embassy of New Zealand. Since it functions as an active embassy, interior access is typically not available to the general public.

The mansion's original facade featured a statue of Aurora perched on its pediment as a decorative crown. This sculptural element is being reconstructed as part of an ongoing restoration effort.
