Особняк Щербакова

The Shcherbakov Mansion is a two-story building featuring typical Russian architectural elements from the 1800s, located on Sovetskaya Street in Kungur. The structure displays the proportions and details that identify it as a home built for a family of wealth and standing.

The building was constructed in 1901 by merchant Mikhail Shcherbakov and initially operated as a hotel called Shcherbakov Rooms. Following the 1917 Revolution, it was taken over by the state and converted to serve different public functions.

The building reflects how prosperous merchant families lived during the late 1800s, with its design showing the wealth that successful trade brought to the city. Visitors can see how social status was expressed through the architecture and layout of homes in this period.

The mansion is located in central Kungur and remains accessible to visitors during business hours, as it currently houses administrative offices. It is easy to reach on foot and the entrance is clearly visible from the street.

The building was formally recognized in 1986 as a monument of urban planning and architecture, placing it on a protected heritage register. This recognition reflects how the 19th-century street layout and architectural design have been preserved to the present day.
