Mansion of Yegor Krasilnikov, Regional cultural heritage building in Rostov-on-Don, Russia.
The Mansion of Yegor Krasilnikov is an eclectic building at the corner of 1st May Street and 18th Line, featuring four corner domes and richly decorated stucco work. Its two stories contain a grand reception hall with an upper gallery and balustrade.
The mansion was built in the late 19th century by Yegor Minaevich Krasilnikov, a brick factory owner, as his private residence. After the October Revolution, it was nationalized in 1922 and subsequently converted into public institutions.
The building displays a blend of baroque and renaissance forms, visible in the ornate stucco work and decorative female head sculptures on the facade. These details reflect the wealth and sophistication that its original merchant owner wanted to express.
The building currently operates as a medical facility and is not open to the public, but can be viewed from the street. The exterior details are best seen during daytime, when light highlights the architectural elements and decorative features.
The reception hall on the upper floor featured a musician's gallery where performers played during merchant gatherings and social events. This layout shows how wealthy households displayed their status through musical entertainment.
