Karl Marx Monument

Karl Marx Monument is a granite statue in central Rostov-on-Don that depicts the figure standing upright on a pedestal with inscriptions carved into it. A fountain installation behind the structure helps define the square while landscaped gardens frame the entire area.

An earlier statue erected in 1925 once stood in this location until it was destroyed during the Second World War. The current monument was installed in 1959 and became a defining landmark for the city's central square.
