History
Architect Alexandr Vasilevich Vlasov designed and completed this building in 1936 as a major institutional project. The structure served as the headquarters of the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions for more than five decades until its function changed in 1990.

The building represents a blend of traditional and modern design approaches that defined Soviet institutional architecture in the 1930s. Walking past it today, you can see how the structure balances classical proportions with the streamlined forms that were emerging at the time.
