The Former Hotel Belvedere stands at the intersection of Leningradsky Prospekt and Naberezhnaya Sorokaletiya VLKSM, built in late 19th-century style with stone construction. Finnish architect Fredrik August Odenwall designed this structure in 1879 during his tenure as Vyborg's city architect from 1868 to 1884. The stone construction survived the Winter War, unlike many of his wooden buildings elsewhere in the city.
The building shows the architectural transition period in Vyborg after the city removed old fortifications and began expanding. Its street-facing facade reflects the late 19th-century aesthetic that shaped the growing urban landscape at that time.
